Teacher Scot Pankey & his classes completed a music video complete with some sweet dance moves. See the video HERE. They were hoping to get one thousand views but they are currently near In doing so as a class project, they participated in a very large #PBL class activity. One of the great things about #PBL is that it involves so much more than lecture-based learning. #PBL is an theory that education takes place with more understanding and deeper involvement when it is done in an environment using applicable real life projects. Projects such as this one can motivate students and an entire school to want to learn more! It can also bring an entire community closer together and promote school pride.

For this journal blog entry, please write for five minutes minimum on your thoughts about a project like this. Do you think it improves school and community spirit? Do you think it motivates students to care more about school? Do you think it helps the community connect to the school? Should #PBL connect the school with the community? Do you think Norway-Vulcan Area Schools could create a video such as this? How would that help our school?

Preparing for final exams can be a stressful event for many students. Keeping calm and using your resources can make a world of difference when it comes to properly preparing to take an exam. Usually exams can feel quite easy if you have taken the proper steps up front.

Using your favorite search engine, find some tips to studying for exams. What are the best tips you found? Is there an app made to help study for exams? In what ways does it help? What are some of your best tips for preparing for exams? What are your favorite tech tools to help prepare? Do you use Quizlet or other web tools to make it easier?

Write on this topic for FIVE MINUTES MINIMUM in your journal. When finished, upload your journal in Moodle at the appropriate location (paste the link if you blog online). Good luck on your exams!

Watch the following video (with headphones on) http://wnmu.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/a16b6e70-01cc-4fb0-9905-26daea72c8fe/a16b6e70-01cc-4fb0-9905-26daea72c8fe/ of David Ortiz who aspired to be a professional football player or doctor but ended up as a computer scientist who programs NFL football Xbox games.

What did you notice about the number of programmers it takes to program a football game such as the one on the video? Do you think that number is going to increase or decrease? Was this particular game as details as some of the games out there today or games you have played? The more detailed the game gets, what do you think happens to the number of programmers required?

Write on this topic for five minutes minimum in your journal.
