Writing Across the Curriculum (with Tech Integration & Differentiated Instruction)
I am willing to make all of my content open and public to both students and parents as well as community members. Practice exams that were available on the iPads could be taken prior to taking exams in my courses. Remind101 notifications as well as edmodo communication was used to be sure that both parents and students knew this.

Parent Teacher Conference Handouts
Mrs. Leiker creates mutliple handouts and communication tools for parents. Several are handed out at Parent Teacher Conferences. They are also available on her website. These allow her to communicate to parents about classroom procedures and routines. It also allows her the chance to teach the parents as well as the students some information about technology. There are also Links to 'What is Moodle', 'What is Edmodo' & Other Parental Information on Mrs. Leiker's Classroom Website). Click the title link above to see examples of the Parent Handouts given.

Electronic Rubrics to Differentiate
Rubrics are used in class to create student awareness of requirements of projects before submitting. With electonic Rubrics created through the Web 2.0 tool Rubistar and interactive Moodle rubrics, students can be required to meet a particular score before moving on in the course. This interactive method of learning with technology truly differentiates learning to a whole new level where students can move at a pace that is right for their skill and knowledge level. Those who need more time can redo assessments with the electronic rubrics until an acceptable score is met without the pressure of holding back the class or failing and moving on without essential base knowledge.
Typing Scores (WPM)
Typing scores are used as a part of the student's quarter grades. Typing progress must be made (a WPM minimum is NOT required). Students must ONLY show improvement every quarter in order to obtain a grade. Below you will find a chart of student WPM at the end of the course.
A chart showing the breakdown of work completed in Mrs. Leiker's course in included. Note the high percentage rate of on hands learning (bookwork) and project based learning (PBL - Proj).
