KINGSFORD CHEERLEADING...THROUGH THE YEARS
Kingsford Cheerleading has established a strong tradition of excellence in cheer competition. The Kingsford cheer program has competed at numerous events including MCCA Regional and State Finals competition until the MHSAA sanctioned State Tournament was mandatory. Kingsford has consistently placed in the top ten in the state in Class B competition including state runner-up titles in 2000 and 2006 and several top 5 finishes. In the MHSAA tournament, Kingsford Cheer has always qualified from Districts to Regionals. The addition of a fabulous middle school program makes this program continue to grow and prosper and many are looking for great things to come from KHS Cheerleading!
Cheerleading has two seasons: Fall/Football and Winter/Competitive & Basketball. The fall season includes cheering at home and playoff football games, pep assemblies and lots of team missions and FUN activities. The winter season (also called the competitive season) includes cheering at basketball games, up to 10 cheer competitions, pep assemblies and more fun activities. All cheerleaders (Fall AND Winter) are encouraged to attend summer camp with the Kingsford Cheer Program right here at KHS. Despite the level of commitment needed for cheerleading, cheerleading is its own reward. The life-lessons, friendships, accomplishments and fun cannot be paralleled. We have several missions/team trips/parties per season and we also have a big and little sister program. The KHS cheerleaders consistently do well competitively. The KHS Cheerleading program is always welcoming new members and invites you to come and sit in on a practice or tryout session to see what it is like to be a member of a KHS cheer team. Being a part of KHS cheerleading is an unforgettable experience that you will remember for a lifetime. |
